Stone is the ancient ground solidified, the heaviest expression of nature itself. We think using stone is the highest honour to the furniture, because it was used since the most first classical sculptors artists in all cultures around the globe.

It's a non renewable source and is for that reason that we decided to use only available stones in the warehouse of our collaborators. Other old projects in the workshop left enough big blocks to develop our unique furniture. We don't need to take a new piece of stone directly from nature for our unique furniture. And that's what makes a unique piece of furniture too. We don't want to produce an edition of several units or define a serial production from a well known quarry. Every block of our choosed stones has it's own characteristics and can't be repeated making the same sculpture or design.

For that purpose we started a collaboration with Granits Barbany, an expertised workshop outside Barcelona with long heritage on stone work. They are familiy business on third generation and have long history working with renowned artists as Jaume Plensa and architectural private and public projects as the most well known is the Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi's project, where they produce the hand worked parts of stone.

Then Jordi Sarrate brings them an idea to develop, chooses a piece of stone and define together with them all the steps to get to the final artwork. It's a magical process of nature and humans working together.
